I’ve been looking round and still deciding if i should get a big shot or a cuttle bug? These 2 machines are the most popular I’ve seen most crafters used. Well, it’s been close over a year since I’ve started crafting and have taken this purchase into deep consideration. I know these machines are not cheap, all over a hundred dollars, that’s why I’ve been taking so long to come to a decision. I also noticed that the metal dies aren’t that cheap as well. It looks like a $300 invest for me 😀 Honestly, with that money, I could buy more stamps, copic markers and other craft stuff. Thus, I’m looking through reviews and comparison to help me facilitate my choice.
At the moment, I’m still in favor with the cuttle bug, as it is compact and sturdy. I don’t see myself needing an xtra large die plate in the future and I feel that it’s the only reason why people get the Big shot for. I normally work on cards, gift wrapping and occasionally scrap/album booking, thus I don’t see a need to emboss or cut objectives bigger than the size CB is providing.
Feel free to drop your opinions on which and why, I would love to hear your views as well (:
ps. I hope to get a decision and purchase my very first die cut machine!!
New items are in fresh from papertryink! Yes, if you look in the right, you’ll see PTI under the items i LUV! I’m a big fan of their stamps, there are more mature as compared to lawn fawn’s. So I decided to purchase these new items from them!
A few sets of new stamps! Can’t wait to use them as they are so darn pretty!!! Sadly, the $15/24 collection starting from Feb 2012 onwards do not include cd cases *boo-hoo* I love how their stamps can be stored!
Buttons! I honestly do not own a bag of buttons at all, this is my first bag of mix ‘candies’. They come in a lovely colour of vintage cream! I find them suitable if you want to use them with any colour! This big has an awesome mix of designs and sizes. I use them a props too 😀
I think keeping my stamps in cases are so much neater! Plus they are ‘scratch-proof’, the corners of stamp sheets always leave me with a scratch or two.. So a ‘safer’ alternatively. I believe it’s an good investment!
Finally!!!! 110lbs PAPER!!! You have no idea how tough it is to find heavy weight paper in Singapore! It’s close to impossible! 80lbs paper to feel soft to me… Anyway, love their colours!!! The shades are all so pretty! Definitely my paper supplier from now on 😉
Woohoo~ Scorpal! Decided to invest on one! It’s helps the folded lines look more professional 😉 Will try to make other things with this!
Since I’ve been stamping, decided to invest in the refill! I originally bought this cleaner from lawn fawn which only comes in the smaller bottle. On papertryink they have the bigger bottle but it’s a refill only, so why not?
Stamp kissing can be so fun and adds a new design to any of your solid image stamp! It’s a simple method that creates another design to your solid image stamps! Here’s how to a stamp / colour kissing effect!
What you need:
Here’s a few items you need to get this effect:
2 ink colours – Dark & light
A solid stamp image (Lawn Fawn)
Background image (Hero arts)
Let start colour KISSING!
Stamp your solid image on to your card stock in a light colour
Ink up your background stamp with the dark colour ink
Clean your solid image stamp and place it onto your background stamp
Line up your solid stamp with the stamped image on the card stock.
Hope you enjoy this stamping trick! Till next time…
A simple equation of: simple and clean + washi tapes = …
I would say I had lots of fun with this card! I’ve got a few washi tapes and I’ve been wondering what to do with them… and embellish blog came up with the challenge with many pretty inspirational creations by their wonderful team!
Lawnscaping challenge is constantly inspiring me by showcasing all the beautiful card designs weekly, even the simple & clean cards are all so darn pretty! I have to say, the design team is always on the ball! And I simply love their challenges that they host!
Here’s a little detail on the card:
In order for the bottle to look glass-like, I’ve glossed up the bottle! For that clean clear finish, making it look like a real bottle.
Another order for a birthday card! I personally love working on birthday cards 😀 With my stash of birthday stamps, i’m always on a look out for more! Anyway, here’s a new card! It’s simple yet sweet for any mature lady.
Inspire by lawn fawn’s Patchwork Paper Card, here’s a card I made! Suitable for any happy occasions! I’m actually using it as a birthday card! Its my very first time doing such an elaborate paper piecing so it does not look perfect but i like how patchwork paper piecing actually blends the colors together. The texture of the patchwork is pretty interesting too.
Pearls at the corner. Patchwork with stitches. Cream twine for the bow. Sending you sunshine sentiments.
I love adding little details inside of the card too. So here’s some presents to go along with the wishes.
I created a scene with a few of lawn fawn’s stamps and greetingfarm stamp set! My first try at challenges, hope to do more as time comes! Anyway, i think i’m not very good at creating scenes, lol… Well, i gave it my best so it doesn’t look to boring!
