Big Shot or Cuttle Bug?

SnC-ellison-sizzix-big-shot-die-cutting-machine-pink-black-794-p

I’ve been looking round and still deciding if i should get a big shot or a cuttle bug? These 2 machines are the most popular I’ve seen most crafters used. Well, it’s been close over a year since I’ve started crafting and have taken this purchase into deep consideration. I know these machines are not cheap, all over a hundred dollars, that’s why I’ve been taking so long to come to a decision. I also noticed that the metal dies aren’t that cheap as well. It looks like a $300 invest for me 😀 Honestly, with that money, I could buy more stamps, copic markers and other craft stuff. Thus, I’m looking through reviews and comparison to help me facilitate my choice.

At the moment, I’m still in favor with the cuttle bug, as it is compact and sturdy. I don’t see myself needing an xtra large die plate in the future and I feel that it’s the only reason why people get the Big shot for. I normally work on cards,  gift wrapping and occasionally scrap/album booking, thus I don’t see a need to emboss or cut objectives bigger than the size CB is providing.

Feel free to drop your opinions on which and why, I would love to hear your views as well (:

ps. I hope to get a decision and purchase my very first die cut machine!!

Oh Christmas Light~

Hoot!Hoot! (CFC81 & ATCAS2)

The spirit of christmas is getting stronger day by day!!!! And i finally got time to work on my christmas cards!! This bulk is inspired by 2 challenges:

Combining both challenges, here’s what i created!

The circle pattern paper and owl is like a christmas ornament. To make it look for like an ornament, I added twine, tied into a bow to make it look like it’s hanging off the paper! The background is a subtle wood grain pattern, stamping on in white ink.

Was busy over the weekends mass making the cards. Each card is different! No one owl is wearing the same scarf and the bauble comes in different pattern. Or course, the sentiments vary as well.

I’ll be working on my next mass set soon! Stay tune…

Floral Wishes

I’ve been practicing my copic colour skills this past month because I’ve got a new stamps sets!!! Been really lazy to go hauls recently but you’ll notice the new designs in cards… I’ve been steering my designs to more mature theme than cute and whimsical ones. So here’s on of the recent cards I did as a gift to my aunt. Didn’t get time to take a good shot of this card but I was pretty happy with my coloring (:

I tried to layer the card by making the larger flowers poppy and glossed up that jar to give it a glass like look. Added some glitter to the center of the flowers, for a sparkly touch and lastly, some pearls to tie up the entire card together.

Thanks for dropping by,

Winter Blues (CFC79)

Here’s a card specially made for Cas-ual Friday’s challenge…

Because of the theme, i took out my blues~ to start working on a card and I made this…

A blue card with a vintage theme!  The snow flakes are being pressed on without full ink, to give that rough edge look. I distress the edges of the pattern paper and made the christmas tree look like a tied piece to the card with double bow. Ended the card with a christmas sentiment! Here are some little details in zoom;

Glossed centered piece.

Extra dimension for the sentiments.

Hope you like this card as much as I enjoyed making it for this challenge and it actually reminded me that christmas does not consist of red and green but other colours too! I’m sure gonna incorporate more coloured themes to my following christmas cards!

Cheerio and till next time,

Bring out the candles!

Here’s one of the latest birthday day ready to go! I’m trying to practice my blending control here ;D Turned out the way I wanted it to! Can’t wait to send it out…

Christmas in the Tropics (ATCAS#1)

Well it’s already the middle of November  That means christmas is getting closer! Living on an island near the equators means I don’t get to experience winter or snow but I do get a lot of rain and thunder. As i’m typing this, it’s pouring outside! Anyway, here’s to a new challenge by Addicted to CAS:-

Snow doesn’t really mean much here because we don’t get any but I love the patterns of snow! Do you know every snow is different in pattern?? Like our finger prints! How cool right? Before i go off topic, here’s a simple card I made, to kick start the christmas card making soon, i hope...

Forever Bliss

It’s the time of the year where people tie the knot. Here’s a card to the special couple that is getting together.

The center piece of the card, a little vintage flair added to this card.

The dimensions on the card. Glossed up the couple and added glitter to the ends of the bride’s dress.

Lastly, to complete the card. I added some twine bearing a little vintage gold heart. After all the couple is tying the knot due to the love they have for each other (:

Hey Sonia

Oh the monday blues… Here’s a cheerful card to cheer the monday blues away.

I love the pale yellow background. Just ties so much cheer to it. Added a few washi tapes to add a bit of flare to it and lastly a poppy ‘hey’ bubble to get some attention 😉

Celebrate

Here’s a card with a floral theme. I glossed up the glass bottles and added glitter to the center of the flowers. Little details to a simple card. Still working on my copic coloring thou..
